WELCOME TO Mrs. Bennett's KINDERGARTEN Class!
A little bit about us:
Teacher: Mrs. Sally Bennett
.Mrs. Bennett has been teaching for 12 years and couldn't imagine anything else she would rather be doing. This is her third year at Patterson Park Public Charter School. Prior to joining the PPPCS team, she taught kindergarten for 7 years in Anne Arundel County. She started her education career teaching Pre-K for 2 years in Pennsylvania where she is originally from. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel College.
She has taught summer school for students with severe special needs, tutored students in reading, organized special events such as the talent show and the annual Halloween event and held positions on several staff committees in past years.
She is the youngest of 4 children and the only girl. She enjoys reading, spending time with her husband and their dog, watching football, and traveling.
Para professional: Miss Susana Reyes
She started as a para professional in kindergarten last year, and loves every minute of it. She has helped students with letter recognition and fluency by volunteering her time as a member of the ABC Crew. She earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts in General Fine Arts at Maryland Institute College of art in the heart of Baltimore. In addition to being a para professional, she also helps students who need academic support in the after school PASS program. This year she will also be an instructor for the art club at PPPCS.
She enjoys painting fairies, drawing, and the arts.
